Washington Gas leaves customers on hold for hours, cites call center contractor

Tony Bullock, who served as press secretary for former D.C. mayor Anthony Williams, said he gave up trying to correct a company billing error after a comparatively modest hour and 34 minutes on hold in April. His usual bill of about $100 had spiked to more than $300, even though he said he and Tyler, his Bichon Frise, had not upped their usage.
